What a whirlwind week it's been.
I've met plenty of handsome prospects thus far:
Bostonman: A 31-year-old business dude who has an affinity for beer gardens and the Red Sox (ick!). Called when he said he would. Sounds like he has his head on his shoulders. He's the first guy I exchanged emails with on Match, and the first guy I'm going out with (tomorrow for brunch near Union Square).
Elitistman: 29 with a beard and funny photos of him and friends in dinosaur costumes. Made me laugh. Very witty but uses an electric toothbrush and owns an iPhone (elitist). His profile says he's divorced. Makes me wonder. Have been exchanging texts with him for a couple of days. Going out with him Sunday.
Sweaterman: 24 with a good appetite. Fabulous designer. The first and only guy I've messaged first on this thing. Good sense of humor - likes Tim and Eric. Exchanged emails with him and gave him my number, but haven't heard from him.
Cheeseburgerman: 28, is a composer for commercials and orchestras? Funny but EXTREMELY sarcastic. Didn't call when he said he would. And when he did, the conversation was awkward. Not too sure about this one.
The pool of decent guys is much better this time around, I must say. And the turnover rate is fast. My best friend asked me what's different with me now that I'm doing this for a second time. I think I'm just quicker to meet someone in person - get the virtual BS out of the way. I'm always myself on a first date, only I think I just kick up the cuteness. I'm good at making conversation when there clearly isn't any.
Brunch tomorrow will be interesting. I talked to Bostonman on the phone and he seems like he's a smart, sensible guy with a good sense of humor. Every guy I dated last time I went out with more than once, so we'll see how tomorrow's date shapes up.
Brb, gotta go shave my legs.
